This weekend, we had the absolute pleasure of meeting Sylvie’s family. It’s incredible to see how much of her parents’ mannerisms show in her already, and to learn more about their interests and routines. So he loved all the adult attention, and seem to know that we were all hanging on her every action. This girl does love an audience!
Traveling with a one-year-old is always a challenge, only because it feels like a race against naptime every day. We found ourselves in the rolling hills on the outskirts of town, in a hotel with a great pool and porch. It was beautiful, but we spent a lot of time in the dark in our room hoping she would fall asleep!
That said, we loved how green everything was, and the people watching. And we mostly loved watching Sylvie’s family revel in how well she feeds her self, her little diva personality, how much she explores the world around her. The world better get ready for this one.
Coming home, we were bowled over at the door by the other kids, who were so excited to tell us all about their amazing weekend. As excited as they were to see us, their enthusiasm to be reunited with their sister was adorable to watch. We ordered Chinese, watched a show, and got everybody settled into bed. Tomorrow’s a school day after all! Even for me.
