I will readily admit that Dave and I groaned when told we had to do our adoption training all over again. I should have had more faith in the process. While we haven’t forgotten our first lessons, this training has been a lovely conversation starter.

Dave and I have a lot of conversations about how we address adoption in our daily lives. Our goal is to set our kids up for open communication without singling them out as adopted every second of their lives. As we watched our videos, we experienced complete reinforcement of our choices – which shouldn’t have surprised us, as these courses guided us in developing these strategies.

Somewhat sheepishly, we ended up getting even more out of this training than we did the first time. Go figure. A dozen hours or so later, we we’re patting ourselves on the back as we watched the little monsters tear our room apart. Talk about a milestone!
