Our little Deuce reached 35 weeks today! That call from neonatal weeks ago had us convince we’d have two preemies on our hands, but while 35 weeks is still premature, it barely clears the mark. Such relief! I woke up with a smile on my face, and I am not a morning person.
Tess had a night in with four grandparents (only two of them hers – we borrowed a couple), and seems to have greatly enjoyed herself! We did too, sneaking in a quiet night with friends. It felt really weird to go out without Tess after weeks of constantly having her with us day in and day out. I feel going back to our routine at home will be a relief and depressing.
This Floridian detour surprises me anew every morning. I stumble out in my pjs and see light and waves instead of workmen and snow. It’s a lovely treat, just startling before coffee. This afternoon we’re going fishing. Deuce is closeby for a few more days so my worry load is light, and Dave is slavering to get on a boat. Sweet Sassy gave up her seat on the ecotour so Tess could play at home and sleep in a crib, not a stroller. Mommy is relieved. I don’t know that I’m ready for
Tess does the Everglades.
