This morning we grabbed brunch with Shannon before she headed back to Toronto. Then we popped down to the hospital for Tess’ great report card. Woot! Then we Skyped with our friends at home, and got to see our dog live – happy and running around with their newly mobile toddler.
Wow! What a birthday for Dave. Tess gained 4 ounces, up to 3 lbs 13 oz! Her blood info came back today and we’re thrilled! She doubled her blood cell growth rate and slightly increased her number of red blood cells, so no transfusion. 🙂 this little girl is all rosy cheeks, guys. I’m smitten.
Apparently, this means she turned the corner and moved into an open crib! She’s in clothes today for the first time – clothes! They actually hid her bed in her room this morning so we’d be sure to have the actual bed tonight. Love the nurses, LOVE the open crib. Woo hoo! Just in time for some Eau de “oh my god” diapers too – stink plus isolette humidity equals super gross.
Seeing Tess after skipping some cares felt so good – we missed her! Seeing her out in the world is amazing. It’s shocking more than anything – to see our little bubble girl in a bed, exposed! Let me tell you, everyone was right. Leaving her room has become even harder.
After a relaxing dinner and our evening quiet time with Tess, we’re headed home for some much-needed rest. While gallivanting around all weekend was delightful, we’re beat! I’m starting to see why new parents often fall off the face of the map. 🙂
